Edge Resorts Group Principal – Jon Jessop
Jon began his career in the tourism industry in 1990.
His experience has seen him manage, own and operate a host of regional accommodation properties including the Australian Tourism Award Winning (1995) Kalbarri Backpackers. Jon developed this business from a 7 bed facility to a 120+ bed facility spread over 6 residential lots.
Jon was also awarded the Mid West Tourism Operator of the Year in 2002 for the Kalbarri Palm Resort which he transformed from a 50 room property with 29% occupancy rate to a 78 room modern resort achieving an 80% occupancy rate (2005).
Jon is currently the owner and operator of The Jetty Resort, Esperance and owner of Oceanside Village Shark Bay in Denham, Kalbarri Palm Resort and the Georgiana Molloy Motel in Augusta.
His years of hands-on experience in successful tourism development and operation has given him a keen understanding of the regional property market, tourism operations in Western Australia and marketing on a local, state, national and international scale.
Jon is currently chair of Australia’s Golden Outback regional tourism group and board member of the Tourism Council of Western Australia.
